Here's what students say about Kathie's classes:

Class Action"Kathie has taught me the importance of proper fit of clothing. The principles that Kathie has taught me of how to construct a garment so it fits properly has carried over to when I buy ready made clothes. Now I know why I don't like the way a garment fits me! Kathie has also taught me the small tricks of the trade for proper use of sewing notions and techniques to use while sewing."
- Jane Lechner

"I took a one day knit workshop with Kathie, and I feel I learned so many sewing skills and techniques that go beyond sewing with knits. Kathie is very detail oriented and precise in a way that makes you strive to improve, but is also very patient. Kathie is very generous with feedback and her time, and as this was a one day workshop I received a lot of hands-on attention. I learn best by doing myself, and found this class to be an excellent investment of my time and money. I learned many new techniques and the logic and rationale behind them, and I know how to make better use of techniques I was already using. I highly recommend Kathie as an instructor. If you want to take your sewing skills up several notches, Kathie is the instructor to get you moving."
- Nicole

"I have been taking sewing classes from Kathie for over eight years. Even though I consider myself a relatively proficient seamstress, I learn something new with each class Kathie teaches. Not only is she an expert with sewing techniques, but she is also highly skilled with tailoring, which is an area that many home sewers could benefit from. I know that the clothes I make with Kathie's oversight fit better and make me, in turn, look better."
- Diane Lindsay

"Hi, I am Nikeeta. I am a textile designer with a masters' degree and I always wanted to Learn to Sew. So I got a pleasant opportunity to be one of the students of Kathie's for 2 years. I took classes from "sewing for beginners" to "clothing" along with "how to work with knits." It was an immense pleasure to learn this Art from Kathie. She is the most precise, helpful, patient and experienced teacher with a beautiful working studio. Kathie taught me the importance of proper fittings, numerous sewing techniques, sewing supplies, gave me helpful tips and many tricks. I also bought my first sewing machine with her guidance. She helped me grow an eye for this Art. All I can say, I love sewing and it's only because I had a great teacher!! KATHIE Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!"

"Kathie provided professional-level instruction on garment fitting and construction. You can not find this quality of education outside of a university setting. And her extensive expertise and experience in costuming and the Arts elevated the curriculum from a sewing class to a "fashion" class.
Kathie has a warm, patient teaching style and tailored her instruction to my skill level. At the conclusion of her classes I had a clear understanding of how to fit and construct both woven and knit garments. I highly recommend her courses to anyone with a passion for fashion sewing!!"
